I recently switched from T-Mobile to Verizon, the port in of my number was successful but I cannot select my number to send/receive iMessage. The number is listed there but when I try to select it, it gives me an error message.
I have tried:
- turning iMessage and FaceTime off/on
- restarting the phone
- resetting network settings
Nothing has worked. Any way to fix this?

If you've already done all of that and it's still not working, then the problem is most likely with Verizon, unless your iOS is out of date, in which case you should get the latest version. Something I saw at Apple Support refers to your phone number having a check next to it in Settings:
https://support.apple.com/en-us/119859
If yours doesn't, then Verizon hasn't told Apple that your number is now with Verizon instead of your old carrier, which causes iMessage to get "confused" because your old carrier has obviously given up the number.
Something else which may need to be done is tech support running whatever SMS package on your phone to make it capable of texting, as something could have gone awry during the port.
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
