iPhone 15 Pro, iPad, and Apple Watch SE Deal Issues

Wondering if anyone else has had issues with obtaining this deal. I'm well aware of Verizon's practices but this was a particularly bad example. I've now spoken to 3 different sales advisors and gotten different estimates each time for this "deal." The first advisor claimed that I could upgrade my current phone for free,  plus also receive an iPad and a Watch for free, over 36 months. When I pressed on the monthly cellular fee that would likely be tied to it, they claimed that my bill would not change at all.  $0/month for everything. Sounds great right? Then the chat disconnected, losing all progress. Next advisor apologizes for the previous comments and states that the "free" $369 iPad will actually cost me over $400 over the 36 months because of the cellular connection and the "free" $249 watch will actually cost me about $400 as well over 36 months. I'm not sure how many people actually really need a cellular connection for an iPad or a Watch but I'm guessing it's a very small minority. I stated my frustration with these two very different explanations and the chat was lost again. Third advisor added to the previous and stated that actually I cannot use the deal on an upgraded line and that I would need an entirely new line of service. And now suddenly, the iPhone also is not free and will actually cost about $600 over 36 months PLUS I'd need to upgrade my line of service for $10/month. Bringing the grand total for all 3 devices to....just under $1800 over the course of 36 months.  Be better, Verizon.

I know how important it is for me to have a clear understanding of what offers I am eligible for when making a purchase decision, and I want to offer the same for you.

First and foremost, we don't sell equipment without service. This means that while the equipment may be discounted via a monthly recurring credit, there would need to be a new line of service with a monthly plan associated. For our Buy More, Save More promotions for and iPad or an Apple Watch, they can both be as low as $0/month depending on the Phone purchase and price plan. Both the iPad and Apple Watch would need to be a new line of service.

On to the iPhone offer; We do have an upgrade offer for the iPhone 15 Pro that  does require a trade-in for up to $830 off. The value of the promotion is determined by the trade-in device, and the plan you are on.

In order to get the highest value for your iPhone promotion, you do need to be on Unlimited Ultimate, Get More, or One Unlimited for iPhone. Unlimited Ultimate would be the best option here, as it comes with an offer to discount the connected device (iPad and Apple Watch) service cost by 50%.

Please be on the lookout for a private message from us, so that we can go into some more specifics, and get you an estimate of what these changes would look like on your bill.

Thanks for the followup. I did just spend another hour chatting with someone from the Social Media team who promised to look into things further as well. The estimate that they came back with was,

-iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB: retail price: $1,199. (I did request this as an upgrade to the included 15 Pro): The device cost WAS offset by me trading in a mint condition 12 Pro Max w/ a new battery. The caveat here is that it required upgrading my line of service to Ultimate. A $35/month increase for 36 months. So, upgrading my device would ultimately cost me, at minimum, $1,260(excluding taxes and activation fees) over the course of the contract. So, over the retail cost of the phone.

-iPad 9th Gen Cellular 64GB: retail price: $459. Again, the "device cost" is offset by the monthly promotion for 36 months as long as I continue to pay for cellular on a device that very rarely needs a cellular connection. The monthly cost for the required Ultimate plan is $20. Luckily, that is reduced to $10/month through having multiple devices. So, over 36 months, I get to pay, at minimum, $360(excluding taxes and activation fees) for a device that I could pick up right now without the unnecessary Cellular option for $329.

-Lastly, Apple Watch SE Cellular 40mm: retail price: $299. Same as before. My cost for obtaining this "free" device would be the cellular charge of $15/month, reduced by 50%, bringing it to $7.5/monthly or $270(excluding taxes and activation fees).

Price of activation fees of $35 per device and monthly surcharges on cellular service(roughly $10/monthy for all 3 devices:  $465

In summary, the cost for a free upgrade to my phone and two free devices will cost me(excluding taxes): $1,260+$360+$270+$465=$2,355.

If you could get back to me and just double check my math, that would be appreciated. I'm simply trying to calculate the true cost of "free" in Verizon's mind.

I decided to go for the DEAL!

For $500 i had to PAY OFF MY OLD PHONE which was the trade in.

It was about $490 for the new  stuff & there was NO MENTION OF A WATCH…BUT THAT WAS PROBABLY AN ADDITIONAL $500!?!?!

Hi ScorpioSue1025. Let's make sure all your "deals" and promotional offers are set.  Was there a question about the Buy More Save More offer that included a watch with a 5G Phone purchase.  Let us know, and we will provide answers to your Verizon questions.
