I transferred my phone number ending in 0979 from AT&T at the end of May or June. I purchased my iPhone 16 Plus in Chicago at a Verizon store on North Avenue. The number was active for weeks, but I noticed that I was still being billed for the same phone line with AT&T. I contacted AT&T regarding my bill even before transferring my number, but no one has returned my calls yet. This is the reason why I decided to transfer my number ending in 0979 to Verizon. Currently, Verizon is charging me for a number ending in 7947, which I have no recollection of being assigned to me as I did not request this number. I reached out to Verizon, and all I have been asked to do is pay for a number that I have no knowledge of. This situation has been quite frustrating as neither company has returned my calls, and when I call them, they both demand payment. AT&T has not contacted me but continues to charge me for the number I transferred out, ending in 0979. I should only have two lines with AT&T, ending in 1992 and the number assigned to my watch. Verizon is unwilling to connect me with a manager, and it takes hours to speak with a representative. The person I spoke with, named Thomas, assured me that he would call back, but he never did. Another Verizon representative claimed that everything was resolved by simply powering off and turning on the phone. This has truly been my most unpleasant experience.
