Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us on this platform. One of our goals is to keep you connected to your loved ones, especially when you are traveling. To better assist, please tell us. Is your Verizon account post paid or prepaid? Are you the account owner or an account manager/authorized user?

Hate to tell you this, but you're most likely out of luck.  Verizon can't unlock a phone overseas from what I've read elsewhere, and with you having left Verizon a few years ago, your account might not be able to be located by anyone now to prove that you are the legitimate owner of the phone.  If there is no way to conclusively prove you are the rightful owner, then there is no way to get a SIM lock appeal to go through.
