trying to setup existing @Anonymous.net mail on iphone (iOS 17.0.3) mail app. So far no success, generated password seems not to be working. I must be doing something wrong. When on IMAP setup page, I get response "no password provided for Verizon". Unable to check/correct port numbers. Need a thorough detailed step by step instructions.
P.S. recently I was able to setup that email without much problem on Betterbird (like Thunderbird) on my laptop running Zorin 17 OS. It also required a specific generated password.

Happy Monday! Being on top of your equipment is crucial, especially if you are attempting to set up your verizon.net mail on an Apple iPhone. We want to guide you in the right direction.
It should be Settings>Email>Accounts>Add Account & choose other if you wish to use pop.
pop.verizon.net
Port 995
smtp.verizon.net
Port 465
SSL on.
Hope this information helped.

Hi Gilbert, thank you for your response. Just to clarify: depending on where I am, I get my @Anonymous.net email on a Windows PC (Thunderbird), or Linux laptop ( Betterbird), or iphone 6S (ios Mail app). I was trying to setup on an iphone 12pro (ios17.0.3) but somehow it did not work... So, instead of installing from anew, today I simply cloned/transferred the whole content of the old to new iphone. It worked, with a few glitches: some emails "not downloaded from server". Btw, very annoying: on my old iphone the older verizon emails vanished, recently I am able to see back to Apr.4th - beyond that date there is nothing. My wife, also @Anonymous.net lost three (!) years of inbox mails. When she called the paid aol tech support, they were only able to recover/ send to her iphone - unbelievable- ALL past emails: inbox, deleted, trash; 9 thousand of them total. We are seriously considering our options...

Radan, thanks so much for this update as we are happy to hear you were able to get the email on your phone. My apologies to hear of your wife's lost emails. When you spoke to tech support, did they provide any insight on why the emails were gone?

there was no explanation why the emails were lost, just blah blah apologies. BTW, as far as I can recall, prior to that mishap I was removing some older emails from Inbox and eventually Deleted on my wife's laptop. Maybe that caused the server go bananas...

Hi Natasha, just to add to my previous grievances: on my iphone I have Inbox mails going back to April 2 only, nothing beyond that, all lost. Would you recommend Proton Mail or Tutanota?

Radan, I appreicate this information. My apologies but we cannot make any recommendations regarding other email options outside of Verizon. I can only recommend trying them out to see if it best suits your needs.
