How do I find the balance on my prepaid phone account?

You can use the Verizon App on the phone (download from Play Store if need be) or you can check from My Verizon online, or you can check your contacts for numbers like #BAL.

I do not have a Verizon app on the phone and do not see a way to get one.

Is there no way to have the balance show on the phone as it did on the flip

phone that I used to have?

I don't know that phones still show balance on screen anymore, but I do know you can go into the My Verizon page and you can set the alert level to high, so that each call made tells you the balance of the line and how many min you have left.

Go to My Verizon and log in.  Then go to Profile and Settings on the left side.Look to the right under your Contact Information and you can change your Messaging Level under Phone Control.
