Salesperson lied to us

I have been a customer of Optimum for 30 years. We decided to make the switch to Verizon. We had a salesperson knock at our door who we let into our home as it was freezing outside in NY. He seemed very friendly and honest. Well that was a lie. He told me my bill would be a certain price and that it included red zone and the movie channels. He also said there were no family and friends discounts - both my uncles have worked at Verizon for 25+ years. Well our service was installed Saturday, we woke up Sunday and my husband put on red zone and to his dismay it said we weren’t subscribed to the channel!!! I called Verizon and was on the phone with them for an hour. She applied the family and friends discount. Great. But wasn’t understanding that I was lied to from the salesperson. My bill should be $195 with the family and friends discounts and she said that’s not possible with me upgrading to the better package. I kept telling her yes, I had to upgrade as I was lied to!! I asked for retention because I find it absurd that Verizon can’t find another $10 promotion to do the right thing. She then hung up. Called me back five mins later and said sorry for the disconnection. Then proceeds to tell me she’s retention - the same lady I was speaking to for an hour. I tell her I would like to disconnect and this is insane there’s nothing she can do. She says no problem. Then hangs up on me!! Again, first time customer and couldn’t be more displeased. I will be switching back as I don’t like being lied to - horrible experience for a first time customer. Thanks Verizon.
