Tech repair charges -- was told there would be no charge
I was force by fios to swap my good old stb to the new ones, over wise I will not be able to access a lot of services included on my plan.
The replacement stb was connected according to setup instruction but was not working properly, after 15 min. of initialization start to reboot at every 3 min.
Called the support to report the problem, they checked at their end and even I open a web camera to live stream my TV screen and try to troubleshoot at my end too at per their instructions. They said it necessary to send a technician to check. When I ask if is a charge, I received a notice later on that there could be a charge of $0.00.
I told them if is a charge I do not want any technician, they said again is no charge and sent a link to my email w/ a $0.00 charge. 2/16/2024.
On 3/15/2024 checked my bill and surprise I was charge $99.00.
Called fios and they said it would be fixed.
On 3/21/2024 checked ant was fixed from $310.82 to $211.82 (I print screen for evidence). But surprise on 4/2/2024 my bill was reverted to $310.82.
I simple forced swap of stb went to a costly one.
Am I being taken for a ride? Someone shows up to tell me all are good and btw there is a $99 charge. I've been fios customer for a long time. Not a single support call.
All my conversations are recorded and stored plus indoor and outdoor security cameras (advise for technician “report”).
Please fix it.
