30 day return/exchange policy

I'm debating between the Storm 2 and the Curve 8530 that is coming out on the 20th.  I was originally set on the Curve because I like the keyboard and it generally seems to have a good reputation.  However, I'm leaning towards the Storm 2 now because of the screen size.

My question is, if I buy the Storm 2 online and decide the touch screen really isn't for me (have the Venus now with a partial touch screen and my bf has an iphone...I haven't been thrilled with touchscreens) and want to go with the Curve 8530 when it comes out, how do I go about exchanging it and still get the online discount?  I also have a corporate discount through my company that I want to make sure is also applied.  Has anyone run into this before?

The company I work for has a dedicated Verizon website where we get online discounts as well as corporate discounts so it is possible.  I've just never ordered online, always gone through the store because the phones I was buying didn't differ in price from the store to onlne....so I have no idea how the return policy works when ordering online.  Do I take it to the store?  Is there a return shipping slip included in the package I receive?  It sounds like more of a hassle than it's worth.  And 4 days without a phone?  Or do they reactivate your previous phone?

1. You'd want to check your corporate intranet site first to see if you actually do get a better deal there, it's possible.

2. you return it the same way it came. There's a prepaid shipping label that comes in the box.

3. Of course they can reactivate your old phone.

Waiting 4 days was just my suggestion to avoid the $35 restocking fee. But if you're okay with losing money that can be spent on a dinner for two, then you don't HAVE to wait 4 days.

Exchanges aren't that difficult. Most only have an issue because of some complication that the user caused themselves; they don't have all the paperwork to send back, they lost the return tracking number and have no way of proving they sent it back, they attempt too many exchanges and abuse the system so juggling all the different orders gets confusing..etc etc.

Just as long as you have all your ducks in a row and you keep ALL your paperwork, you should be fine.

Your corporate discount can't be applied with the rebates. Besides, corporate discounts are rarely better than the promotional price that VZW offers to all customers.

When you want to do the exchange you would just call customer service and have them do it for you. Tell them you ordered the first one online and got the instant rebate, they'll have to match that same discounting and give you an instant rebate on the Curve 8530. Keep in mind doing this exchange will charge you a $35 restocking fee.

One way to get out of the restocking fee is to return the original device and wait 4 days. Typically within those four days your upgrade date will be reset and you'll receive a refund, thus allowing you to upgrade on the website again the same way you did the first phone.

Casa de Chileman. Other than being a gadget/computer geek I can also cook one heck of a meal. Mastering the culinary arts can be as much a nerdy endeavor as any. I can even pull of wonders with $20 or less.

If we are straying from the original subject:

Let's see, Johnny Carinos, Olive Garden, Applebees (currently at $19 for 2 people plus Chilis). Lots of places, and any Chinese buffett.

Oh and for Steaks, Montana Mikes. Maybe RED Lobster and LosCucos Mexican food.
