9530 GPS issue

I just purchased and activated the BB storm.  I thought that something was wrong with it due to not being able to get the GPS to work at my house.  I had the curve prior, so I know all the things to do, such as location on, service books, different apps...

Anyways, I took the storm to the VZW store in the next city over (Ocala), and it worked with no problem for the rep.  The gps worked all the way home, next day no gps.  I have sat outside for hours, and no luck.  Went back to Ocala today for some shopping, and as soon as I got in the area, gps works.  WOrked all day in the city, all the way home, turned off BB maps.  Turned it back on, no sat found.  Can anyone help?

Do you live in a low svc area?  Have you tried VZ Navigator?  Daily resets of the handset?

No the area I live in has good service.  usually about 3/4 bars.  I have reset the thing more times then i can count.  I didn't try the navigator software, i figured if it wouldn't work with BB maps, GPSed, or google it wouldn't work with Navigator.  I am pretty sure that GPS is independent of wireless service, with the exception of downloading the maps, but what seems to me that happens is as soon as i get into an area that is verizon it works, and when i get into an area that use to be alltel, it does not.  The area that it starts working at is the exact location that my alltel curve would start roaming.
