Blackberry 9650 SIM card initialization

Each time I turn on my 9650 I get a message on the screen saying, "Initializing SIM card". I never saw that on the 9630 so, my question is, is this normal or do I need some help?

Unless you are going to use the 9650 overseas, you don't need the SIM card; you can either remove it, or (as i have done) put it in backwards so it is not detected or "initialized".
