Hmmm . . . will it might depend on what "normal" is for your particular use. One thing that will drain it quickly is having any programs running in the background (sometimes they are and you don't even know it) without you even using them. Also, keeping blue tooth activated when not in use will run it down.
On balance, I found that the standard battery for my Storm even with my own "limited normal use" was pretty much empty by the end of the day and I was also one who wasn't a power user by any means. This is why the aftermarket extended battery is the way to go. Now be aware there are some that extended capacity that are not any bigger than the traditional battery and there are some that are and will require an redesigned battery plate to accommodate the extra bulge.
Your case (dependent on design) may also need to be updated to accomodate the extra width. However, having the horsepower to do what these devices are supposed to do and have some reserve energy left has to be the goal. So I was willing to pay the extra extra expense to obtain that.
