Is the monthly assistant app the only way to back-up Blackberry info?

Actually the Backup Assistant application doesn't even work with Blackberry. You have to use the Blackberry Desktop Manager that comes with your device in order to backup/restore all of your personal data; contacts, messages, memos, application settings..etc etc.

I have used Susteen's Data Pilot software for organizing my phone's contacts for a couple of years. I recently upgraded to the Tour and it was a snap to load my contacts on the new phone. It also can syncronize your calender and a few other things, but the contact organizer is what I use the most.
