Bold 9930 no longer connecting to Skype

I can no longer connect to Skype since recent changes. I have downloaded and installed the latest app version available from Verizon, but everytime I connect I get an error stating that the "Connection failed. Please check your connection settings and try again."
This was the download I used: http://mobile.vzw.com/download/Bourbon/BB9930/Skype_mobile.jad
Any ideas?
