Are you able to charge/use other things from USB on your work computers?? Like USB fans or lights...etc. If not, the USB connection itself might not be putting out any power.

If you are able to use it to power other things...then...hmmm...your guess is as good as mine.

Along the lines of Chileman, on base we have several computers where the front USB ports are disabled so you have to plug into the back of the computer.  Try a few different USB ports and if none of the open ones work, try one that a keyboard or mouse is plugged into that you know works for sure.  If it still doesn't work, I'm out of ideas.  If it charges at home alright, on a laptop, or any other USB besides work, it might just be your work computer.

When you plug it in the USB slot does it say in the lower left hand corner " This device would perform faster if it was a 2.0 " If it

does then your pc's have 1.0 usb which I dont believe send data and power, just data.
