I have a Curve 8330 and as of yesterday, it will not vibrate. I have checked all of the settings and have done multiple battery pulls to no evail. I have also had a friend <ping> me using BB messenger and the device simply does not vibrate any longer. This is very irritating as I have to have it on vibrate during work hours. Is this a common issue? Is there a way for me to fix it?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I suggest to perform a handheld wipe. Keep in mind that performing this procedure disables all data services (web browsing, email, etc.) and removes all data (passwords, contacts, etc.) from the device. Before resetting to factory defaults, ensure there is a recent backup of the data. To reset the device follow the directions below:
1. In the device options, click Security Options.
2. Click General Settings.
3. Press the Menu key.
4. Click Wipe Handheld.
5. To delete all third-party applications from your device, select the Include third-party applications check box.
6. Click Continue
7. Type Blackberry.
Hope this helps!
Ensure you back up all your data w/Desktop Manager before wiping. You can use BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife to backup 3rd party apps. When you restore your data, I suggest you do not restore any options, settings or service books and manually reset all that stuff.
