Do I have to get a data plan for a Blackberry?

Do I have to get a data plan for a Blackberry?  What happens if I don't get a data plan?  Will I still be able to make calls and send text messages?

Short and sweet YES. You must get at least the 29.99 plan which will do everything you need it to do .

If you dont get the data plan then you will not have a blackberry. You must get the data plan with Verizon.

Data package is completely seperate from the text and voice plans. So it is an add on to your voiceplan and your text package.
