I am thinking about getting a Blackberry Storm 2 9550.
However, I will get one only if the GPS works without paying the extra 9.99/mo for VZ nav.
Is that the case?
Does in work without it?
Can I use google maps?

The VZ Navigator is a seperate application and not required to use the GPS. You can turn on GPS on the S2 and us Google Maps for free.
