OS v4.7.0148 Upgrade Issues

After upgrading my BlackBerry Storm 9530 to v4.7.0148 (Platform 4.0.0.181), I found that I no longer have access to application downloads that I had before (and the applications I had downloaded, such as Pandora, were removed), and even the games that came with the phone are no longer there. Can anyone provide advice on whether this can be addressed?

Welcome to the forum, I'm sorry you're having trouble with your phone.  First off, when you downloaded .148 it wiped your phone clean so any 3rd party applications, downloads or programs need to be re-downloaded and installed.  This is why it's a good idea to back up your phone before you do a firmware update.  I've heard of both things happening, ppl do the update and still have their info, others do it (like myself) and it's a clean wipe of the phone and I have to reinstall everything from my last back up.  Out of curiosity, what programs did you have access to prior and now you don't?  You should be able to download the same programs as you did before.  Can you pls be a little more specific?

The email message I received did not mention that everything would be wiped clean on the device, unfortunately. As a bit of side note, that seems to be quite strange, when many applications provide for data storage when upgrading. At least the applications I had loaded were free, so I didn't lose anything vital.

I recalled that I downloaded the application store from BlackBerry, so that restored several of the applications I lost, including Pandora, which recalled my previous information.

The applications that came with the phone itself, including two games (one a word game with moles, another reminiscent of an old Atari video game) were not restored after the upgrade.

Interesting, it should have definitely restored those useless games to your phone.........LOL  Glad you got your other stuff back though.

Did you do the upgrade over the phone? If you did thats why you lost your third party apps. Always do upgrades through the desktop manager as it does a backup step and reinstalls everything exactly like it was.

I upgraded using the desktop manager, and I made sure I had the latest version of it before upgrading. Just bad luck, then?
