My daughter has a Blackberry Curve 8530 and I cannot add the parental controls...why? I have it for my other daughter who has a Droid Eris...why can't I have it on the Curve?

Unfortunately at this time we do not offer usage controls for this device. It is more suited towards business applications. Hope this helps.

Respectfully, a blackberry is not designed for parental control.
The 8530 as listed on the Verizon website does not include Usage Controls or Family Locator capability. It is frankly designed for use by a responsible person.
I would recommend you set guidelines for your daughter's usage and if she does not follow them, either replace the BB with a phone that you can control or take away the phone completely. Good luck.

You may also want to look under the firewall settings and see if those will help do what you are looking for. Go to Options - Security Options - Firewall. Just a suggestion.
