Slacker Radio just showed up on my phone?!?!?!

I use Meterberry everyday to restart my phone at the beginning of the day. When I did, it restarted, and there was an icon for Slacker. It took me to their website to download the program. The Icon will not go away, all I can do is hide it. It doesnt show up under apps in options/advanced options either!!

I have tried a hard reset/battery pull, I've tried installing and then deleting the app, then resetting, still there, I've also went into the options/advanced options/service book and deleted slacker and the other crap VZW has sent and it disappears. But as soon as I do a reset it all comes back?????

So very frustrating, Is verizon responsible for this spam crap cluttering our phones and is there anyway to get rid of it, or am I just stuck with it taking up memory?!?! Thanks for the help!

Verizon did recently announce a partnership with Slacker Radio to provide you downloads of songs you listen to using the application. They may have started to push service books for it directly to your device.

There may be a way to delete it. Try going to your Options icon then to "Advanced Options" then to "Service Book". You may find a listing for Slacker Radio. If you do you can delete the service book and this will delete the icon itself (also a good way to get rid of the Facebook icon if you don't use it). Keep in mind however, if you ever have your services books resent to your device (for email issues, resets...etc) this may cause it to reappear.

Also, what I suggest you do, since you said you have a lot of icons cluttering your screen, is create a folder where you can put your unused icons. From the main screen hit your menu button till you see a menu pop up with an option that says "Create folder". Throw all your unused icons in that folder to free up more realesate on the main screen.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick reply, I've already tried the service book thing. It works to initially to get rid of the icon but when you reset the phone via battery pull, quick pull or Meterberry reset, it all comes back. I just think its crap that verizon can put this on your phone with no way to get rid of it, I know its a small amount of memory for the icon but I still don't need it!!!!! I guess all I can do is hide it. Until someone comes up with something...

Yeah its a push from VZ to all Storm owners and there is nothing you can do just hide it in a folder somewhere. Slacker on the Storm is tied to V Cast music so while you listen on slacker you can purchase from V Cast. Those sneaky little devils.
