Storm goes into camera mode on its own - on two separate phones at the same time!

This morning my husband and I were both using our new Storm's (purchased on Monday) to check emails and such. He had attempted to click on something, and suddenly the camera took over the screen (although it didn't have any of the camera buttons on the screen, or the ability to summon those buttons). He tried to get out of it, but it wasn't letting him at first. Right as he was fussing with that, I was trying to respond to a text message. I hit a letter key on the keyboard, and suddenly my phone went to the camera glitch too! This happened within about 30 seconds of each other.

While my husband was able to get out of the error, my phone could not. Sometimes when I tried to click buttons it would briefly flash a small slice of the home screen or some other screen juxtaposed over the camera screen before disappearing. I got frustrated, and tried to Google for answers on my home computer. When I picked my phone back up a couple of minutes later I now had a screen that was nothing but a bunch of multi-colored dots. My phone responded to nothing.

I ended up pulling the battery to reset the phone, and that seemed to do the trick. However, I'm finding it really, really odd that both my and my husband's phones would have this error at essentially the exact same time, even though we were doing different things.

Also, I'm assuming others have had similar problems. Is there something in particular I should do, if it happens again? I noticed that VZW may be coming out with a firmware update that's supposed to "fix" these and other bugs. Anyone know when that's coming out?

I just realized so I thought I´d share.

The Cisco GIST app is beta. Not sure I can trust a beta application...

However, speeds are slow. And the Storm has no option for Rev. 0/Rev. A....

Thanks Amoeba for clarifying the Rev "O" / Rev ""A thing.   I no longer have my Storm and couldn't remember if there was an option to select.   You have confirmed there is not.    Given everything I have read so far on other sites, pretty much everyone is experiencing the same problem in trying to accurately capture upload & download speeds on these devices.    There are just too many competing varriables that are in the way.   I think the company that can somehow come up with an accurate yardstick of measurement will have a very desirable application.   However, given current technology any existing program out there now is at best a guestimate of speeds.

got options and click screen/keyboard and scroll down and change the convenience key that says camra. ive had my storm since it came out and i know this works. i never hit that button for the camra to pop up and it still did but if you change this it wont happen again, i put mine on clock and it has never done it again.in fact the clock hasntpoped up either unless i push the button on purpose. ita a blackberry they all have bugs but then so do all other phones, they just cant do what ours can do
