Tour won't reacquire network

I upgraded to a Tour from my old "brick" blackberry, which I've had for 3 years with not a hint of trouble. I love the Tour, but if this issue can't be corrected it goes back. Whenever I travel around the phone losses the internet services, which is understandable, but upon returning to coverage it will not reacquire the internet service. The Mobile voice connection remains fine. The help desk told me I must do a hard reset (battery removal) each time. This is not acceptable, as I would be doing this multiple times a day.
I would be cautious of getting the Tour until you know this has been fixed. If anyone can help, I'd love it. Sure would hate to give my Tour up!

Hmm. Mine had this problem on the first day I had it (yesterday) but since then it's been okay. By the way, you wouldn't need to do a battery pull, you can just toggle the network connection. Find your "Manage Connections" icon and click on it then click on the box that has says Mobile Network. Uncheck it, wait for the radio to turn off, then check it again to turn it back on. Not a permanent solution, I know but better than pulling the battery.
Have you set up your email and received your service books yet?

Thanks for that tip, I'll try it.
I do have email and seem to have a mess of Service Books (checked in advanced options).
Sure seems like the most basic function a phone should have is to reaquire a network!

Just FYI, with most new BBs you will ultimately have to pull your battery at some point b/c of a freezing issue or sluggish performance. They're packing so much new stuff into them that wasn't around 3 years ago that sometimes they become overwhelmed, especially by those who don't know how to properly maintain BB performance....ie CLOSING not escaping out of applications and running soft resets on the phone several times a week. A lot of times an issue like yours can be solved by pulling the batter out and you'll be good for a long time but if it's a constant issue you may need to have the OS reloaded b/c not automatically re-acquiring the network is unacceptable. If you don't use "Quickpull" I would highly suggest you get it. It simulates a battery pull by softresetting your phone for you so there's no need to remove the cover and actually take out the battery. The free version of this utility is an absolute must in my humble opinion for any BB user. You can set it to quickpull itself in the a.m. before you get up so you have a fresh phone everyday. I set mine to reset at 5 a.m.
