Just a little tidbit I found while doing some searching around yesterday on BlackBerry news from the Wire; The one downside of releasing a follow-upd device is that some of the original customers aren't happy. They just got the device a year earlier and since cell phone contracts are for two years that puts them in a tough position. Should they pay full retail price for the new device? This becomes a big issue for the BlackBerry Storm 2, which is a pretty big upgrade over the original. According to a BlackBerry OS Thread, Verizon will allow original Storm users to upgrade early. They still have to extend their contracts which can be too much for some, but they can then also get it for the subsidized price. There will be more information once the VZW BOGO expires on November 7th. Now reading the forum today it states; it's confirmed VZW will start doing early updates for Storm 1 customers to the Strom 2. No date given as of yet. It will cost $279.00 for 2 year extension with $100.00 mail in rebate. It will be after the current BOGO promotion. If this does actually happen all of you that told me I was stupid, a fool and whatever else when I felt VZW should take care of the original Strom customers can be nicer to me now. Thank you....
