RIM requires a data plan on "all" Blackberrys sold by "all" the carriers. AT&T(don't know about rest)if you put AT&T SIM card into a Blackberry that you got from a friend or online, or somewhere other then directly from AT&T, your SIM card will work for voice services. If you don't have a Blackberry data plan, it will not work for data. Verizon is CDMA and Verizon devices have to be activated by Verizon, you can't just swap another device without Verizon's assistance. Also, the data plan is "unlimited" you use the browser all the time, without the email.

Well if you love it so much, learn to use it to the fullest extent so you can get your $30 worth each month. And that means, setting up your email on the phone (I know u have at least one email address), surfing the internet for whatever, and chatting your heart out on any of the 5 installed messenger services. If you need help setting up the email let us know but I guarantee once you learn how to use it, you'll never look back. Streaming email rocks; I rarely even check my inboxes on-line anymore.

I would like to add, I love my Storm! I never consider swicthing carriers. So you should use your Curve to it's fullest because the data plan is "unlimited!"

Seriously its been like 802 times. Come on you wont use your email? Heres a typical day of a berry user (me). Get up and twitter, check email, facebook and myspace, havent got out of bed yet. Calender events go off right as I walk into the office to remind me of meetings, bdays, anniversaries, appointments. Get my coffee and check the local news, gaming news and my berry sites. Several blackberry messenger and text messages flow during the day along with phone calls. There are so many things you havent thought of you can do with your berry. Give it the credit it deserves.

Don't forget RSS feeds!! I'm a big fan now thanks to Chileman......Using a free app like Viigo, check your local/national/international news, what your fav celeb is doing (if that's your thing), latest posts on website forums, or in my case the latest phone news from your fav site like crackberry, phone scoop, boy genius or whatever if you don't want to deal with waiting for pesky websites to load.

I have a question, why do you want have a Blackberry Curve if you don't want data? I know you love the Curve, but still data plan is unlimited. Forgive me for being blunt, if people don't want data plan, don't get any Blackberry, buy a different type of phone without a data plan.
