I currently have the samsung rogue which has the data pack that i pay for every month. I recently just broke it & have a old replacement blackberry curve 8330. My question is that in order for me to activate my blackberry do i have to get a new data pack for the blackberry or can i stick with my data pack that i already have. and if so, is it mandatory for me to switch my data packs?

The Blackberry Curve is a smartphone and will require the unlimited data plan at $29.99 per month.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

If you activate the BlackBerry device you will need to add either the $29.99 Unlimited data plan for personal use or the $44.99 unlimited plan for corporate use. You will not be able to keep the data plan you have on the Rogue.
Thanks

Can I remove my smartphone from a data plan and use it just as a phone?

no, that is a requirement
You could use it as a pda for free on wifi though
