Do you have an Alltel calling plan?

 

If you do and are registered for my verizon you can login, click on the my services tab, on the left hand side click on my phone, then select "change/upgrade phone"  After that just follow the prompts and the rest is easy.  You can also call customer service.

If you don't have an alltel calling plan anymore, and you have a VZW calling plan you won't be able to activate the phone on your account.
