when I dial a number or select a contact from my contact list to call instead of going through it tells me to dial the number again but not to hit send. What am I doing wrong? This is very annoying and time consuming.

Do you have your number signed up for Google voice or some other third party service? A quick call to customer service may resolve the problem.

Your contact list should make it easier to dial, not harder! Does this happen when you use the dial pad and type out a number? I would suggest checking your contacts and make sure the area code is stored without the "1." If it only happens when dialing from the contact list, the issue would be with the way the contacts are stored.
