$200 gift card

I opened up a new account with Verizon for 4 lines that I switched over from AT&T. As part of the signup promotion, Verizon offered me $200 gift card per line, totaling $800. I was told that I would receive these gift cards after few months. I’ve called Verizon several times and inquired about the status of the gift cards, and I was advised by the customer representative that it is an automatic process, and I will receive them in the mail. I was also advised that there isn’t anything I have to do.

This week, again, I called Verizon to find out about status since I didn’t receive any of the gift cards. To my surprise, now Verizon is telling me that I must have received a text message with some special codes and had to submit a rebate form with those codes to get the gift cards. And I only had 30 days to do it and now it is too late.

When I stated that I called several times to inquire about the status, no one told me about those alleged text messages with special codes. Rather, I was advised that the process is automatic, and I don’t need to worry about it. I asked Verizon to provide me with transcripts of phone conversations, and all they are telling me is that would be a waste of time even if I prove that the Verizon customer service representative basically lied to me. This is a typical bait and switch, and honestly, I would never expect this from Verizon.

I will be cancelling my service immediately and switch back to ATT.

I have the same problem: switched 2 lines from tmobile and was told that I would get $200/line. Talked today with an agent about this issue. At first, they said it's a promo that will be applied to my monthly bills. I said that's not what I was promised, Verizon promised $200 gift card per line that I will port. Then, after some waiting, the agent was like "oh, yeah, we do have that too!". Once again I said that I want my gift cards as promised. The agent checked my account and said something like "You got free phones and that was your deal". I said that that's not what other agents that I talked to previously were telling me and that I DO WANT MY GIFT CARD!!! After back and forth, I had to explain my situation about switching and their promised offer once again. The agent asked if I received any emails about this (which I didn't) and they told me they need to submit a manual request. I also mentioned that there are too many people online complaining and having the same issues. The agent said: "Please don't worry. You will get what you are promised for because we always keep our promises."  So, long story short, agent submitted manual request and said that now I need to wait 7 "working" days for it to be processed and to receive my email with further instructions. 

But after reading so many complains about this issue I doubt that I will receive any email at all. I really would like for a very good agent to be able to help me resolve my issue.

I never received the 3 gift cards for signing up wireless 2 where $200 because we also purchased a phone nad the one line we only opened and brought a phone I dont remember the amount i think it was $100.

And I also signed up for internet and was NOT TOLD I had to do it immediately, I was told it would take a few months like the first did nad when I saw the email it was over the 2 months.

I Spent HOURS on the phone and was told it was all fixed I would get the multiple $200 dollar gift cards for the wireless and the $200 home depot as well and NOTHING has happened!

Please call me ASAP with a fix for this or we will be charging EVERYTHING back and going back to ATT who want our busine and will match your rates.

I am getting the run around with verizon right now, the rebate dept says they have a deferent email (that you guys entered wrong) but they cant change it on customer support can and they say the rebate dept can.

 

This has waisted 6+ hours of my life so far and I am hold now..

You too!? I went into Verizon with the intention of buying a phone outright.  When I got my first bill they held $400 of the phone price onto the bill so that I would have to stay or pay extra to pay the $400 off.

This has happened to me as well I’m thinking about switching back to att they told me if I switch to them I’d get 200$ per line i had 4 lines called and called and get the run around it’s false advertisement! I’ll be telling everyone it’s a lie

I was supposed to receive the same promotion and get 4 $200 gift cards but have not received anything but an outrageous bill. They also told me that it would be automatic and I would get an email but I did not have to do anything. I still have the conversation documented on my computer.  I had to place my Verizon order like 15 times online then finally go in the store to prove my idenity to finally get the 4 lines and my phones in hand. It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with Verizon. They do not honor what you are promised when purchasing their products. I’m really regretting making the switch to Verizon @vzw_customer_support

Same thing happened to us. We bought the new phone/added a line 4 months ago, and still haven't received the $200 gift card promised. I've called, and they promised they were sending it. Still haven't gotten it . . . We need it to purchase a smart watch for my dad, who needs it due to his physical disabilities.

I don't want anyone to call me. I just want you to send me the gift card promised.

I recently Switched over and have had many doubts about the $800 for 4 lines I brought from t mobile. 

I hope I get some help with that. Seems false from what everyone is commenting.

We had the same thing happen! I switched 3 lines from TMobile last year. I called numerous times and stopped in to the retail store, they just kept telling me in 6-8 weeks I would receive the gift cards.  Of course time went by and I got busy and forgot,  so frustrating this was $600 we lost out on that we were promised as a promotion from Verizon. Sounds like Verizon does this to mist of their customers! 
I just switched 2 more lines last month…still waiting for the $400 gift cards! Now I am owed $1000!

1000!!! That's a lot. I don't think so you will get that much. I think this looks like duping scheme.
