I have a Pantech USB modem connected to my husband's PC for broadband. I would like to be able to use my laptop elsewhere in the house. Is there a switch I can get, which will allow my laptop to connect wirelessly to it, and also allow me to use the broadband, while my husband may or may not be using the internet (he probably won't be; he'll be play Spider Solitaire) on his PC.

The easiest, and probably the best way, is to get a CradlePoint router and plug your modem into the router. You can then connect wirelessly to the router. I got mine here http://moremobileinternet.com/ You can also plug your printer into the router to share it.
