Anyone else Notice Verizon's $500 Static IP address required for more and more applications.

Example:

1. Gaming with an Xbox, PS3

2. Email (inbound port 25)

3. Remote applications

4. VPN

5. IP Cameras (well with the exception for the ones that 3gstore sells)

I would expect if Verizon wanted to make money off people using more data they would allow those applications or is the $500 charge enough of a revenue?

Are you talk the server side of these apps?  I can use a client VPN, client email with SMTP, client viewing camera.  If it is server, the this is not unexpected as it is specifically excluded in terms of service.

What type of plan do you have?
