Ok so I recently bought the option to tether my blackberry to my laptop and surf the internet. Here is the thing a friend of mine has the Verizon USB modem for mobile broadband and was going to sell it to me. I was wondering if I would be able to use that to surf the internet instead of my blackberry. Thouhgt I would ask the questin before I bought it from her.

With your own device there should be no contract but you will be paying 59.99 per month for 5 GB or $34.99 for 250 MB. If you know the person you are purchasing it from the esn is probably good. If you do not know them well, call customer care and verify that the esn is activatable.

I would suggest to verify that the ESN is good on the device before purchasing the device, like bolder stated. Keep in mind that it's $30/a month to use your Blackberry as a modem that allows you to have 5GB allowance a month, while you'll be paying 59.99 per month for 5 GB or $34.99 for 250 MB with a broadband card. Hope this helps!
