Buying a used MiFi 2200 for Linux mostly, WinXP sometimes

If I buy a used 2200 MiFi, can I get a prepaid plan for it, since I'd use it where WiFi isn't available, or not at home with DSL?

 

Thank you, would I get the cards for it where they are sold, or can I also use Verizon prepaid cellphone cards?  Or do I have to buy the time online only?

The MiFi 2200 is a CDMA device, and does not use SIM cards. Instead its IMEI (serial number) is activated on a network. If you already have the device you should be able to sign up for a plan without a long term contract, but you are best off calling Verizon or visiting a Verizon store to confirm.
