So I had Hughes net for my web service, but it was costing to much, so I talked to the Verizon people and was told that my service would cost less, be faster and would not slow down. So I had the Hughes stuff pulled off the roof and plugged in the Verizon hot spot device. The , The Verizon people were right it was cheaper and did not slowdown..............BUT............it disconnects all the time, if I'm reading an on line news paper, I have to reconnect after reading each story, so I talked to the tech people several times and then I was told that Verizon did a "roll by" and site eval. I was told that I am seven miles from a tower and it is due to being so far away from a tower that I keep disconnecting, then I asked what we can do about it.........nothing, I was told that Verizon will let me out of my contract without having to pay the early termination fee, I was told that there is an antenna for my device, but they did not think it would make a difference. When I went looking for a device, I told the salesman about where I live and how far away from a tower I was he asked if I could use my cell phone from my house and I said yes and he said if the phone worked, the hot spot will work, it does, but you are disconnecting all the time. It suckers that I had Hughes and it was slower, but did not disconnect and if I change back to Hughes, I have to pay the connection fees......again. So upset, you would think that Verizon would try the antenna or a different hot spot device, some thing more than a drive by, so sad that at todays day and age a person living in the country has a problem with hooking to the net?
