Connection failure

So I had Hughes net for my web service, but it was costing to much, so I talked to the Verizon people and was told that my service would cost less, be faster and would not slow down. So I had the Hughes stuff pulled off the roof and plugged in the Verizon hot spot device. The , The Verizon people were right it was cheaper and did not slowdown..............BUT............it disconnects all the time, if I'm reading an on line news paper, I have to reconnect after reading each story, so I talked to the tech people several times and then I was told that Verizon did a "roll by" and site eval. I was told that I am seven miles from a tower and it is due to being so far away from a tower that I keep disconnecting, then I asked what we can do about it.........nothing, I was told that Verizon will let me out of my contract without having to pay the early termination fee,  I was told that there is an antenna for my device, but they did not think it would make a difference. When I went looking for a device, I told the salesman about where I live and how far away from a tower I was he asked if I could use my cell phone from my house and I said yes and he said if the phone worked, the hot spot will work, it does, but you are disconnecting all the time. It suckers that I had Hughes and it was slower, but did not disconnect and if I change back to Hughes, I have to pay the connection fees......again. So upset, you would think that Verizon would try the antenna or a different hot spot device, some thing more than a drive by, so sad that at todays day and age a person living in the country has a problem with hooking to the net?

I would do *228 option 1 or 2 and see if you have roaming on as well as try to plug the phone in as a hotspot and see if that works by haveing wifi off and hotspot on. it's better if the phone hotspot or hotspot to be within so many feet close to the computer plus 3G if your useing wifi as the connection. Be closer to the window. You could get a network extender I think. Also you could have asked to replace the phone to see if it could be especially after trying to hotspot with USB. There's no harm in it. Some have a setting so it doesent time out when you not using a minimum data per so many minutes. It could timeout so you don't go over if it thinks your not using it but I don't think iPhone have that. It happened when I had an incredible but there's a setting to change if your using those types of phone hotspots.

Hi Riffraft! I want you to have your Hot Spot connection all of the time, especially if your phones work in the area with no problem! What model Hot Spot do you have and what is your zip code? I'd like to pinpoint your area, to gather more data and get to the bottom of this for you. Please provide me with some additional information, I'm happy to look into this further for you! ^CB

Hi CB, I have the Samsung 4G. lTE and my zip code is 04572. For my cell phone I have us cellular and don,t have any disconnections problems with my phone, but you must know it is just my wife and I so the phone is not used much, and as far as the net, we just do a little e- mail and read the news papers and some face booking . Verizon told me that they did a " drive by" and said I was seven miles from a tower and there was nothing they could do, but I think there has to be a better model in the hot spot line up, or a repeater, antenna, some thing to help me out, this service is great and you folks in customer support are just a great bunch of guys, and I understand it has to suck to tell a customer that there is not much more you can do, but in this case I think there is still more that an be done, I know the these days this stuff changes over night and keeps improving , I am willing to try almost any thing you want to try, having said this and I'm not saying this to drum up support, but I have neighbors who are waiting to see what works and what does not work for me as we here on my street are all in the same basket with the same lace of access to the web.  I want to thank you for any help and support you can give me.  Thanks.  Bob pease
