I have a Cradlepoint MBR1200 Router that I tried to setup with a Verizon Pantech UML295 usb modem. The router will work great the first time the USB modem is plugged in. After being reset or powered down the USB Modem cannot connect to the Verizon network and lists "Carrier Reject" as the reason. If I switch modems or get a sim cards the modem will connect the first time (the sim or modem is used) then get rejected again. So once used and power cycled it won't connect again. I'm assuming the router is getting banned from the network as Verizon doesn't want the WWAN shared across devices. I can plug the UML295 modem into any PC and it works great. I'd use a hotspot but need more functionality from my router and a permanent local network in place. Before ordering the USB modem I was using my iPhone as a hotspot (which got extremely hot and had limited range) and it worked great. I've contacted Verizon and they were not helpful whatsoever. I live in the country and Verizon WWAN gets about 45Mbps vs 6Mbps offered by DSL. I have 2 DSL lines load balanced but would like to use the Verizon WWAN as primary. Since I live so far out in the country I have never been throttled on any of my devices since they started offering unlimited plans again. Any suggestions? Does anyone have any experience with Cradlepoint and Verizon? We've deployed a bunch of these Cradlepoint routers on the AT&T network without any issues.
ICS through a PC would be a pain in the butt and require a PC to be constantly running.
