What VZW device are you referring to here?
Broadband devices such as the 4G LTE router need a GPS antenna to be attached at all times for 911 geo-location tracking. Service providers cannot offer voice services without some way to triangulate your approximate location first.
Perhaps you need to clarify what you mean by GPS extension first.
John,Thanks for the reply. What I meant to say, was using the coax extension cord, do I need to keep it connected all the time? I did find out the answer. And it is YES. This was by trail and error.
