Are there newer router models that have bridge mode? It's ridiculous that Verizon doesn't have some kind of box that acts as a modem-only or router in bridge mode...
I don't WANT Verizon to have a wireless OR wired network available on my site... Just need the BB feed and I will provide the network infrastructure... "security concerns".

You can simulate bridge mode by turning off Wi-Fi and using the DMZ to bypass the internal firewall.
To make it more difficult for someone to plug into an Ethernet port you can turn off the DHCP Server, use a static IP address and set subnet mask to only allow 2 IP addresses in the subnet. However, anyone with physical access to the device can just use the reset button to reset the defaults.

You mean like the 4G LTE Network Extender for Enterprise?
With this all you get is a 4G LTE device that acts like a small cell tower on your site. No additional WiFi or Broadband cable connections to manage. Just provide the device with a normal Broadband cable from your infrastructure and you are good to go.
Oh, one catch though. A Network Extender will require a GPS lock to function correctly. If you plan to deploy this device with 20 feet of a window with LOS to the sky you may be fine with the default cable they provide. If not then you will have to purchase a longer GPS cable and run it up to a location that can get a GPS lock.
I have 3 of these devices deployed on my site for our basement environments. Had to run GPS cables to the roof or a higher floor to get them to work correctly for optimal placement and coverage.

Certainly sounds promising... let me go look. And GPS is no issue... Gotta run one coax for the antenna, might as well run a second one for a GPS antenna. Maybe use one of the GPS antennas already up in the air. (GPSDO).

Read up on this piece... It does NOT appear to be what I am looking for...
Essentially, I am looking for a follow-on to the TG790 router/switch Verizon hands out to folks in the country with a cantenna to get some semblance of broadband.
I want a device that can be setup in bridge mode, so I can feed my own router instead of relying on Verizon's security and outdated hardware... (N instead of AC wireless, et al)

Have you explored USB Modem and compatible router combo kits?
For example the CradlePoint series or anything else offered at the 3GStore.com may be able to work for you.

I'll have to check it out... but it would have to be compatible with the SIM cards they use in the TG790... Thanks!

You would have to check the individual models to see if the SIMs are swappable or not. Otherwise I'd assume they would come with an active SIM, you wouldn't need to save the previous one. A migration would then be necessary to move the data plan from one device to another on your account.
