MIFI Wireless

Hi,

I received the MIFI wireless and charged it but I still can't get it to work with any of my laptop or IPad.  Can you please help me so I can use either one.

What are the steps to get it to start working right?

Please email me and let me know what I need to do to get it started.

Thank you so very much for your time and help.

First of all you should plug it into your USB on the laptop and install the VZAccess Manager, it won't work without it if you haven't done that already.

Then when you get it setup, unplug it and connect to the wireless broadcast SSID (Name of the MIFI when viewing available wireless networks)  make sure your security is set to WPA or WPA2 since most iPod's iPads, etc. Won't connect to WEP and if that doesn't work, then set the security to Open to see if they will connect.

Plug in the MiFi2200 to a wall charger.

The power button should be green, and the LED along the edge should be solid green.

If the LED on the edge is not green, press and release the power button.

If the edge LED is blinking slowly, it is searching for a cellular signal.

I can't tell the difference between the power button "charging" and "on", so I look for the edge LED.

On the ipad, go to settings, wifi, make sure wifi is "on" at the top.

You should see a Wifi with "Verizon Mifi 22000 nnnn" as a wifi hotspot.

Connect to that, using the password that is printed on the MiFi.

The side LED on the MiFi should be blinking green.

Then start Safari, and connect to http://192.168.1.1
default password is admin

You should have an "activate" button.

After activation, you should be connected to the internet on the iPad just like to any other hotspot.

The MiFi 2200 does not require VZAcess to activate.

It can be activated via WiFi, as I did.

Trying to login to device so change device name and pw:

I entered the pw provided for the MIFI Device but keep getting invalid PW.

What am I doing wrong?

Conecting via WiFi?  The default connection password is the decimal ESN of the device, printed on a label on the outside of the MiFi 2200, and under the battery.

Connecting to the web page of the device http://192.168.1.1, the password is admin.

It appears that there are two different MiFi 2200 units.
The newer one identifies itself as MIFI200OTA on the label under the battery.
This one can be activated "Over The Air" without VZAccess Manager.

Mine is the MiFi 2200 OTA
