I have been using my USB 760 device on a netbook with Windows 7. I would now like to use it on my Mac G4 running OS 10.5.6. I have installed the latest version of the VZ Access Manager for my Mac (v7.1.6).
However, when I launch the VZ Access Manager and click the Detect Devices button, choose USB Modem in the list on the left pane, insert the device into a USB port, and click the Start button, after several minutes it reports that no device was detected, even though the device is powered on and the green light is steady.
I originally installed the VZ Access Manager available on the device itself, but when I got the same error of the device not being found, I downloaded and installed the new version listed above.
I have tried the detection step with the device already inserted, inserted only just before clicking the Start button, etc. I have also restarted the computer several times. I have installed the VZ Access Manager several times.
If I go to About this Mac, choose More Info, and click on USB under the Hardware menu, it shows a Novatel Wireless Modem in a USB port. So, it appears that the device is being recognized by the computer. Also, a disk icon for the device shows up on the desktop after I insert it, and I can access the contents via the file system.
Any suggestions for why the device is not detected by the VZ Access Manager? Or is it possible that Windows 7 has changed something on the device such that it no longer works on the Mac?
Thanks for all suggestions.

I suspect that the problem is that the Mac G4 has USB 1.1 ports rather than the USB 2.0 ports apparently required.

Try installing VZAccess Manager with the steps below. This info can be found here http://search.vzw.com/?do=viewdoc&id=21546&p=4327&supportview=1. Hope this helps!

Plug the device in before opening the VZAccess Manager. This should do it. Or:
Go to System Preferences>Network and check to see if the either the Verizon or Novatel is listed in your services. Then report back to le t me know what you have found.
