My UMW190 Global USB Modem was working fine with my MacBook running OSX 10.5.8 -- until this week. Now I get this error, regardless of where I'm physically located:
"vzaccess could not negotiate connectioin with the remote ppp server"
.. I'm going out of town next week and need it urgently. Help!
Thank you,
RF

Remove the SIM card from the device. Place back in the Mac, Open VZAccess Manager and click on Detect Device. Then Options>Activation. This should help you a bit.
If not, then go to system preferences>Network and select the Pantech UMW190>Advanced>under WWAN Vendor: Apple Model: V32>OK>Apply>Connect.
Make sure that you remove the username and password stuff from those fields.
If the Apple/v32 doesn't work, try Vendor: Other Model: CDMA.
Let me know if I this works.
