I bought a 5 spot with Salesman telling me I could use it at my cabin (no cable/dsl access) where I need to leave it run continuously so my ip motion cameras will alert me if there is any activity. I have used the 5 spot flawlessly with my laptop and iPad for temporary usage, and it seems to work well on my desktop (plugged into USB) at the cabin, but within 12 hours after I leave, it goes offline.
I have made sure the desktop power stays on, no sleep/idling of drives, monitor, cpu, etc - when I return, the desktop is alive and running, but the Verizon 5 SPot is offline. I can click connect and it will connect, but I need it to run for a week at a time without disconnecting.
Does anyone know if there is a setting or some other trick, or is there a chance this is just a bad unit? I have searched all over and I don't see this same problem on the forums, and I have to assume other people have their 5-Spot running for extended periods of time...
Appreciate any ideas....
I use mine via USB on the PC, I know that it goes down exactly at 24 hours. I have to restart it.
