Mifi or router?

Was about to purchase an aircard router but just stumbled upon the mifi.
Since I'm often in fringe service areas, I use an external antenna and amplifier. Does the MiFi unit have a jack for that purpose?

No. The only connection is for charging or using as a wired cellular modem. However, as the device is wireless you can put it in a location with better reception, up to 50 feet from where you will be using the WiFi signal.

I have noticed that when I am at home and using my Network Extender with my DSL connection the MiFi works better. The only thing I can't figure out is that the Extender should only boost the 1X signal. Also, I don't have a use for the connection at home because of a wireless connection there via DSL. But I can manage my MiFi and wireless connections via VZAM.
