There seems to be a Network Extender Outage again today, I see in the Posts that this is not uncommon. But being a new Network Extender User, I thought it was my equipment so I called in for some Tech support and waited 35 minutes online just to be told there was an outage in the West and they were working on it. Verizon needs a system to notify users via E-mail or text or both when they are having an outage. It would save thousands of people ffrom calling in, waiting, getting frustrated at the long wait, just to find out that there is a network issue.
BTW, I had all blue lights on my Extender, but when I tried to make a call, I got no response at all.
Just my 2 Cents worth....

I had the same frustration when I called today. I talked to 4 different people and it wasn't until I spoke with the 4th person that I was told about the outage. They put me through the hoops with resetting my phones. I wasted over an hour an a half. I discovered (on my own) that if you unplug your extender, you will have limited service vs. NO service. You may have dropped calls but at least you can dial out and receive calls. Just keep an eye on your bars.

Well, that explains it. I've been going nuts over here trying to locate the issue...router reboots and reconfigs, network extender reboots, repositioning the GPS reciever.
Glad it's not my network.

Verizon seems to want to hide their problem, even from their Techs? The best thing they can do is put the word out as to what is going on.......

I suggested they have an update on their website for outages which would save a lot of folks some time. Also a live chat would be really nice since I don't have a landline at home--when the extender is down I have no way to communicate without leaving my building.

I like both your suggestions, esp. Live Chat, here we are hours later and the network still seems to be down.

I've been in contact with Tech support by email. I told her about unplugging the extender since she has one at home also. Here's her response:
VERIZON REP: didn't know that, but I will do that once I get home. I will contact you tomorrow with an update, and hopefully by then it is resolved. I did get an update a minute ago that they are working with the vendor of the network extender to resolve the issue. Still no ETA.
Hopefully, they'll have it fixed soon. I'll keep you posted if I hear any more.
Take care

The network extender outage has been resolved! You should now be able to make/receive calls using a network extender. I apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for being patient as our technicians worked diligently to resolve the issue.

My Extender is working again, but it would be nice for Verizon to have a better notification system in place...
