Does anyone know how to get the Novatel 4510L or the 4620L MiFi to power on without a battery?
If you only have a wall adapter plugged in the unit will never power on, it just keeps resetting itself.

Both of these MiFi models will power on with only a power cord. Either the wall adapter or a plain USB cable to your computer will accomplish this. The only weird thing about the MiFi's is that when plugged into a computer the wireless broadcast disables which attempts to turn it into a tether only device.
If the device is not behaving correctly then it or the cable is most likely damaged and should be replaced.

Hi PthPndr,
Both the Novatel 4510L and the 4620L MiFi devices don't reflect to have the ability to power up the device with only a charger. The manual indicates a battery is needed to provide power source even with the chargers connected. http://bit.ly/yf5kkE and http://bit.ly/J5pkZz for device manuals.
Thank you,

I stand corrected.
Tried this out the other day and can confirm that my MiFi 4510L does not start without the battery. Could of swore I got it to work like that before, must have been thinking about something else.

You can modify a standard USB micro cable, following the instructions provided on this website:

I have tried it and it works fine on my 4510L.
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!
