Samsung Omnia II not compatible with Verizon Access Manager for Windows 7

I just purchased the Omni II.  When I tried to install VAM so I could use the device as a modem the drivers didn't install correctly.  Turns out that VAM doesn't support Windows 7.  It seems strange to me that they could be selling a MS phone that doesn't support W7.  No word on when this will be resolved.  Any suggestions on how to get my phone set up as a modem in the mean time would be appreciated.

Try these steps below to use to set your Omnia up as a modem:

Install samsung cdma modem xp to your pc.  then on your phone, there's a file in the \windows directory called data connection.exe. Make a shortcut for this.  When you launch the file, it will give you an 2 options.  1. USB-PDA and 2. USB-PHONE.  Choose phone and connect it to your laptop, it will detect the phone as a samsung cdma usb composite device.  When you go to control panel in your pc,  the samsung modem will be listed there

These steps were found by going to http://www.samsung-omnia.org/how-to-b57/how-i-can-setup-the-omnia-2-as-a-modem-real/ if you would like a reference.
