As I checked my resources and I see that the Verizon Wireless V740 is Macintosh compatible; however, last software for this device was released in 2007 and it may not work properly if at all with you recently manufactured computer mainly due to software compatibility issues. I would recommend checking for latest software online at http://vzam.net but, my best recommendation would be to consider a much newer device http://vzw.com/Jetpack to ensure compatibility with your current computer.
