Verizon Wireless Verizon Jetpack 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot MiFi 4510L software update

I am trying to install the software update using my MacBook Air but when I run the app I get the following error message

NW DEVICE UPGARE UTILITY

Multiple Novatel HID devices detected.

Please remove all devices and try inserting the device that needs upgrade.

I only have 1 device and only 1 device is attached. I have tried rebooting and starting over but get the same error.

Any thoughts?

Macs are known to have issues when updating the MiFi software. Try to track down a PC and see if you have any better luck. The reps at the VZW stores should be able to do this for you too if you do not have one available.
