mifi data theft, fraud by verizon class action lawsuit 2012

i think its high time, mifi and verizon data customers start compiling the necessary information (which i have already gathered for my own case) and start organizing a lawsuit against verizon for deceptive marketing , fraud(wire fraud), theft(interception) of data(e.g. the mysterious 3gb per month data overages experienced by numerous customers. anyone who has anything to add please feel free, lets use this opportunity to narrow down this issue and get some results.....time for verizon to open its wallet i personally am tired of being stolen from and im tired of paying $270.00 a month for a crap connection and crap reception with 7kbps transfer rate. 1 phone and one mifi device.

I have been caught up in Christmas shopping and keeping up with emails. My latest email was sent to a law firm recommended by the Alabama Lawyers Referral Association. I sent them an email message with a copy of my written letters to Verizon's customer service center, the President and CEO of Verizon Wireless, and maybe most important, a copy of amcom's post 71 on the mifi data thief link.

I had never heard of Beasley Allen, but my son had. He told me that they send monthly up dates to lawyers and he had seen them when he was a lawyer in the states. He is back from Belgium for Christmas, and I am going to bring him up-to-date on this situation when he comes down to visit from Huntsville.

I'll let you know if Beasley Allen is interested. Wade

Interesting things going on. I'm just sitting back and waiting to see what happens before I say much. I got my December billing cycle started at midnight today, or 12:01 a.m. I am watching my usage like a hawk. So far, it's just normal.

I got my computer checked out as Ben, the Verizon technical representative, asked me to. He said no virus or program on it that could cause such usage overages. Cost me $125. I sent Ben an email telling him, but I haven't heard from him. Wade

I know someone had made a post/comment earlier today that they thought this thread has run it course and should be closed and I'm guessing that comment was removed by a moderator because it's not showing now.

I'm glad this thread is still here because I'm still having issues of being charged over data use charges and come here for updated information and advice.

I went from having 75% of data use to 91% in just over three hours and it can't be explained. VERY frustrating and it's starting to effect my job because I do my job at home and if this continues with the over charges I will not be able to afford to work from home much longer. I have until January 9th until my new billing cycle starts!! Not good!!

It is very interesting reading this thread how many people have had or having this same issue!!!!

See the real issue is you all have your computers on automatic update so when theres an update needed on your computer will update automatically in the background so its not FRAUD its your computer doing what its designed to do but your just now noticing it and you trying to make hype about it when you can go to your computer settings and turn automatic updates off because the updates take anywhere from half a gig to 6 gigs in the matter of hour nad a half so its very possible and the reason they cant tell you what it is is because they see data times and amount no exactly wat used it or web page was entered due to privacy reason so class action lawsuit is not need and maybe the thread should be closed because its a bunch of bull

Yeah, that's the trouble Xavier.

How do you account for those of us who have their updates turned off?

Or if my updates were turned back on by magic, it only happened once in months, and on that one time it used up over 20 GBs?????????

Read post 71.

Maybe that explains his figures, huh?

I am now on my fourth billing cycle day and have used half a GB. But overnight on Thanksgiving eve, I used more data than I had ever used in any of my previous months. And I had my computer checked to make sure it was working properly. It was. Cost me $125, but there were no Trojans, viruses, etc. found. And updates were turned off. Wade

So you say you NEVER do ANY updates even though some are actually critical? And you wonder why you have issues? Your PC is probably full of exploits. Which would explain the higher data usage.

I didn't say I didn't "NEVER do ANY" updates. I have my computer check if updates exist and notify me. I then determine if I want to update. With no exceptions, people that make their living with computers have told me that updates are almost never required. The last time I checked I had 23 very important updates, with a total of 93 MBs. Not hardly the 16.34 GBs in 1 day.

As I reported on another thread, for someone that doesn't have a dog in the hunt, you sure do take a lot of interest in these posts. Wade

I give up on this or should say I really don't know who else to talk to.  The tech. person promised to call me back on 12/28 to talk about the usage issue but nothing happen.  We don't even use the computer at home anymore because I don't want to pay 120 dollar each month when I normally only paid 50 dollars a monthe before.  Few more months, our contract will be up and we are out of this.

By the way, is Brian68 work for Verizon Wireless??  Just saying....

Hey, Bluehouse. I got a notice and your name from Verizon saying we could chat via Direct Message, but when I put my cursor on your user name it did not give me the box to direct mail you. Did the same with four others.

Check out my post on Excess Data Usage With MiFi. I posted the day-by-day usage reported by Verizon and by NetWorx on my data usages from Dec. 24 to yesterday.

Now this is just ten days usage. About 2.5 GB. I used up over 6 GB in one usage figure on Thanksgiving Day morning; while I was asleep.Wade

Rhetorical question, right? Here is the post from the other thread.

Networx will only track the computer it's on. So any other device also using data would not be tracked by Networx.

That makes sense, but it says all users.

Maybe you can tell me why Verizon sent me an email that said "You are now Bluehouse's Connection" and down in the body it said "name name approved you as a connection," but when I put my cursor on the user name it shows

Bluehouse

Email:(Private)

but no box allowing me to text message.

With Networx if you have say 3 PCs in your house all with Networx you can view data usage all 3 from just one PC. But since you can't install Networx on a cell phone or a tablet or a game system any mobile data those use won't be counted. That was my biggest issue with Networx since my ISP( Charter has a 250 GB cap ) so I ended up getting anew router that had a bandwidth meter. And that''s really the only way you'll get an accurate data reading is via the router.

Windows 8 had a bandwidth meter built in. I could re-install Networx and run both compare numbers for 24 hours and let you know if they are similar.

As far as the other thing you posted I have no clue to what you are talking about.

I still don't know what you are talking about. I don't anything about "connections" here or "direct messaging" anyone here.

You can put your cursor on someone's user name and it opens a message box showing very little information, but shows a box saying "follow" with a + in a box. If you click on it Verizon will show you a message that says it has sent a request to that user name, and they will have to accept your request. When they do accept the request the next time you put your cursor on that user name it will show a box showing "Direct Message." You can then chat with them instead of posting like you and I are doing now. Wade

Maybe you accidentally sent them a request to be a connection.
