Several years ago it was decided that my family wanted to switch from Verizon to a different mobile carrier. I didn't delete my Verizon Community forums account before the switch. Unaware that I would end up with this issue. So now I'm locked out of my previous Verizon community forum account that I'm trying to access in order to close it. Every time I try to set a new password it says "you do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action."
I have brought up this issue to Verizon Support via X (formally Twitter). They suggested that I send an email to [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service] about this problem.
I sent an email to the suggested address, and still no response back. Brought up the issue again to Verizon Support and they still suggest I do the email again.

We don't want you to keep having problems accessing your old account. We're sending you a Private Message so we can gather more details about the situation.

I believe this issue is more in your wheelhouse as community admins.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Do you remember what the previous username you used was?

Once you port out, you can't login to the forums anymore either. The "login as Community Member only" link hasn't ever worked for me. Would agree with Ann154 that one of the forum admins ought to be able to close your forum account? You would have to PM them your old username.
If nothing else works and it's simply that you don't want to get notifications from the Verizon Community forums anymore, move the automated email address which the notifications are coming from to your blocked senders list.

If your community forum account is associated with your Verizon account, you can't use the community only ID login. If your forum account isn't associated with your Verizon account, then you need to use the community only ID login to access the community.
Given the username has changed now and the discussion thread has been moved to the community feedback space, I suspect the admins have corrected their username to their original account or moved the original ID to be associated with their new account.
I know I'm glad to have a community only ID login. If I had associated it with my account at the time I would have lost access to it less than a year after I joined the community.

Thank you for clearing something up which has had me mystified for months! I had always wondered why that community only login never worked for me.

Each login type has both advantages and disadvantages to each other. Honestly I'm not sure if I know all the differences myself. I just know the difference I mentioned above for my particular situation was an advantage for me in the long term.
