Apple watch use overseas:

My son has an Apple watch (10), connected to his mom's iPhone.

Only he and I are going to Scotland over the new year. Is there any plan or way that he'll be able to use his watch for texts and/or calls while over there, knowing the iPhone it's connected to will stay here in the US?

I would think no, because the watch isn't paired to your phone, and taking it out of the US would mean it's also disconnected from the Verizon network.

I figured this could be the case after reading through some other forums, so thanks for taking the time to confirm my suspicions here.
